Your body double doesn&#8217;t necessarily help with the task itself but serves as a supportive presence. The concept is based on the idea that having someone else in the room can provide accountability, reduce distractions, and create a more structured environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Does Body Doubling Help People with ADHD?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>People with ADHD know how challenging it can be to complete mundane tasks when your brain seeks distraction and dopamine. Body Doubling provides that dopamine along with other factors that help keep you focused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Increased Accountability<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowing someone else is present can create a sense of accountability, making it less likely for procrastination or distraction to take hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reduced Anxiety<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The presence of another person can help alleviate <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/adhdonline.com\/anxiety\/\" title=\"anxiety\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"423\">anxiety<\/a> associated with starting or completing tasks. They can engage in their own tasks or simply provide a supportive presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Virtual Body Doubling<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Use video calls or specialized apps to connect with a body double remotely. This can be especially useful for those working from home or in isolated environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Body Doubling Groups<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Join or create a group where multiple people with ADHD can work together, either in person or virtually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Professional Body Doubling<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some ADHD coaches offer body doubling services as part of their support programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reciprocal Body Doubling<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Take turns being the body double for each other with a friend or colleague who also has ADHD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Body doubling can be a powerful tool for individuals with ADHD to enhance their productivity and focus.
